Indeed, this duet was ‘AU’some

If the four tracks from the 2000 film Fiza – spread across my blogs – were arranged in the alphabetical order, Aaja Maahiya would be the first.

Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan rendered it.

Gulzar was nominated in the Best Lyricist category at the Filmfare Awards in 2001.

This outstanding track was composed by Anu Malik, who was nominated in the Best Music Director category at the same ceremony.

As a teenager, I mistook the line that went, “Aa dhoop maloon main” for, “Aa thook maloon main” (which could be translated to, “Let me rub some spit”).
